Who is the host?

I’m Aurrou, the woman behind Adriata. I’m really a jack of all trades and have lived a few lives before dedicating my time and energy to Adriata.

These included exciting projects such as launching new markets in Africa for a tech company, working as an economist for the United Nations, and roaming around Southeast Asia thanks to a known-to-some Instagram page and a second-hand camera.

But mostly, I was working on spreadsheets from all around the world.

From excitement to restlessness

I thrived on constant change, but at some point, the excitement stopped feeling like freedom and started feeling like restlessness. The thrill of the next destination no longer satisfied me. Instead, I began longing for the things I had been missing:

  • The intimacy that grows through time and consistency

  • The grounding that comes from stability (within myself and in a physical space)

  • The realization that freedom isn’t the absence of ties but the ability to choose where, how, and with whom we build our lives

I used to believe that responsibility and freedom were opposites. For me, freedom was movement, and settling down meant the end of discovery. Fortunately, I’ve come to see it differently: freedom isn’t just movement. It’s also depth.

The best stories don’t just come from movement. They come from meaning. It’s having the ability to create a life that feels intentional.

I moved back for 3 years to my home country then decided to settle down in Paris, France. It finally felt grounding, but something was still missing. I missed the spark of travel, the incredible people you only seem to meet on the road. And I started feeling creatively lonely.

That’s how Adriata was born. Not just as a coliving place, but as an outlet to share collective stories of adventure, home, love, and belonging. I needed a space where I could slow down without losing inspiration, where I could experience the love of community without sacrificing my independence.

And so here we are, soon meeting in Mallorca! If you recognize yourself through those words, if you love to build, do, and create, just come to the next coliving!
